I am astonished at how many variations of the Beoremote One seem to exist, having compared my own with a relatives. If the remote is dead you may need a battery change via a paper clip or pin in the hole in the underside.

The arm position and operation is governed by a number of sliding brass plates under the centre of the turntable. If a plate has been damaged or bent it will give rise to the wrong positioning of the arm or incorrect lifting or dropping of the cartridge/ stylus.

        Graham

Edit: or possibly the plates have been removed and then reassembled incorrectly.

Thanks Lee & Keith for keeping the site running all these years. Let’s hope Multicare can provide future success.

            Hi MM,

Yes he’s on the internet. The auto updating says the software is up to date, but there is no sign of NetRadio. This made me wonder whether B&O were actually still broadcasting the updating software. My own TV software says it’s up to date, but the software version is dated 2017.

I had to close a very modest website because of hosting costs. (No forum). No sooner had I done this that people came out of the woodwork who had been using the site as a free resource, and were really put out about the loss of the site.

It’s just reality. If Lee and Keith cannot sell Beoworld as a going concern then what next? A free transfer to B&O or to a U.K. B&O franchise?

Just a word of warning! My BV11 has just failed. B&O official repairer has diagnosed (by telephone and following his instructions) that the panel has failed. They were specifically made for B&O and replacements are no longer available.

BV11 was a fantastic tv but apparently now (in my case) beyond repair.

Just spotted this thread after posting on my BV11 with similar problems.

What happened to the B&O idea of the dealerships having suitcases of modules to effect quick diagnosis and repair?

The risk is that the BV10’s and BV11’s have lcd screens reaching the end of their useful lives, and an expensive module swap or repair may not extend the life of the TV very much.

Was this resolved? Just out of interest we have an Apple TV connected to a BV5 via an hdmi Scart converter, and a second ATV connected to a BV11. The BV11 ATV remains blank after selection, with the menu only appearing after using the back button.

My BL3500’s are linked by Masterlink to a BC2 via an old BV5.

In my case the time has to be set on the BV5 and is then transmitted to the BL3500s.

Sad news, but thanks for all the context MM.

I always thought Peter’s diagrams and pictures were brilliant, and needed no language translation.

Some prizes seem too good to put into use……. they’re collector pieces.

Radio Paradise is funded entirely on voluntary subscriptions. Twice (?) a year they appeal for funds via the broadcasts, and by emailing registered or previous subscribers. It’s a model that has worked for them for about 15 years, but they do keep adding to their methods of streaming.

Maybe Beoworld can make a twice a year funding appeal in addition to existing subscriptions.

                                          Hi Lee,
Difficult. I suspect that many who buy new high end B&O don’t come here these days.

The site is useful for repair or compatibility issues for older products.

The old humour – camaraderie has gone from the site, due to members who haven’t renewed, but also from a period when any off-topic humour seemed not to be tolerated….. which was overcome by the old Wednesday evening Wedthred. Present day ‘Wokeness’ probably now makes much comment even less tolerable.

Keep the forum going. Seek out dealer sponsorship, or small commission fees for dealer links. Make the draw only once a year around Christmas.

And why not invite all old members back to a formal site relaunch with a discount offer for gold or silver subscriptions (direct debit or continuing credit card renewing automatically after one year at the full rate?)

                                          Graham

My ancient S45s (sim S45.2) give outstanding performance with crystal clear trebles and deep base.
A BS8 gives great performance (almost as good as the S45’s and remarkable for the size) either via a mk2 iPad or streaming via Chromecast. Lack of stereo separation is the only drawback of this speaker pair, but stereo seems to be out of fashion these days.

I still have a pair of Beovox 2600’s which were a great match for the 1200 Beomaster.

The Beovox speakers were often a bit on the big side, but can still match many active speakers without the use of a sub.
