Sounds odd to me I would ask the dealer about that. Maybe something harmless or maybe a misunderstanding. Maybe when they were servicing them they got the round plate mixed up.
I have a beosound 9000 with a pair of BL4000’s hooked up to an essence Mk2.
With it I can use the analog inputs to connect the 9000. This way I can play a CD on the 9000 and it plays on the BL9000 as well as to all my other B&O products in other rooms.
I can play music through B&O radio, Airplay 2. Spotify.
All of this can be controlled through the B&O app in terms of volume, inputs etc. Just not CD selection but that’s understandable.
I have had zero problems with this setup in 3 years.
Looks great in the new clean room. I always thought that centre speaker looked like an evil goatee though 😀

Oh my god after over a month with no updates they have updated the beta app. The Theatre screen is more compact now. Haven’t found any new features though.
You have the latest firmware?
I have a BS9000 connected to an essence with Powerlink speakers. By the sounds of it this box won’t work in this situation unless it has more ports than just USB-C?
I was wondering the same. I assume its a essence or core without any ports.
I have the same problem with my A9 Gen 2. Refuses anything but its original name.
I did mine first day on My G2. No issues. No real point though if you don’t use the TV os. I sure don’t use it, still terrible.
I don’t mean it’s laggy controlling the products. More that the interface and interaction with the halo is a bit choppy. But since its just a glorified volume control it doesn’t matter much.
The Halo isn’t really buggy luckily. It’s just a bit laggy with very limited usage.
The first level response is stupid. I mean my name is attached to the account so look up the serial number on the support end. I mean why even ask that?
But keep back and frothing with them and eventually it might hit the right person.
Are you using the Beta app? its a bug. It’s coming back. But I agree the way the update the app and just change/break things is unacceptable.
I think the reason it doesn’t have WISA is that you need to keep the WiFi and WISA antennas pretty far apart and since this thing is made out of aluminum other than the top (glass?) there is no space for both transmitters.
@severed_hand The Marantz can’t multi-room with my Beosound in the adjoining bathroom. It also doesn’t work just like all the other beosounds with which my wife has finally become comfortable.
I get that what I am saying is the amount of technology is thats included for the price. The Marantz I listed has its own music network distribution but yes it won’t work with B&O systems.
Previously to getting my Essence I used $400 Yamaha receiver with my BL17 and 3rd party sub connected to it and basically did all the same things as this new core with the exception of app compatibility.
I think my main disappointment with the new Core is the price for what you get, which isn’t much.
Would have been nice if they came out with a new Essence remote to go with it. Does this core even work with essence remotes?
I also noticed a big positive boost in base in the last couple Firmwares. Before music sounded rather flat and Bass-less while movies sounded about right. Now Music sounds MUCH better bass wise. Not exactly what I hope it could be but better.
I have a non-B&O TV and wish to improve the TV sound and listen to streaming services and a turntable.
I think the core “Improving” the sound of TV will be debatable. I can’t be the only one that watching TV with external speakers in stereo is the weirdest possible way to watch tv.
I know it’s apples to oranges but for that frankly crazy high price you pay for the Core you could get a full blown receiver that does all that plus more with full surround sound and 8k video. I know there is a B&O tax and that’s fine but it just amazes me how poor the feature set is for that price.
