Surely they see the community value that Beoworld has for the brand.
I honestly couldn’t see B&O running an official ‘community’ forum where anyone can say anything about the brand and often do. They do, of course, receive a tonne of negative comments on Facebook, but generally speaking that doesn’t affect the SEO link permanent links off a public forum.
Besides, they also have their own website support section and could easily expand that if that was their attention.
I hope Lee does manage to sell the website. I’m very rarely on BeoWorld anymore since the new forum – if I’m being brutally honest – simply as I find the forum to be hard to visually follow and use. It doesn’t necessarily reflect the ‘modern’ brand B&O wishes to portray either. It looks old-school. 90s even.
Together as a package, was also mounted by the dealer for a fee. 4 hours were needed. I could puke at what B&O has got itself into with LG. I should have kept my hands off it. I am pissed off.
I know you’re unhappy, but I think you have to draw a line here. Just because one panel has an issue, doesn’t imply that the entire ‘partnership’ is flawed and they shouldn’t have bothered – I’ve had 3 LG panels and not had a single issue. As have many others.
As for puking at B&O. You clearly didn’t go through the years – yes, years – of issues we went through with B&O and their MK1, M2 and MK3 BV7-40 TVs/panels. So flawed. They only got it right by MK4, years after launch. Even by MK3 the BV7 still wouldn’t operate properly with a Sky box!
“The BS1 is not being updated, it’s being EOL’d.”
Not when you rarely come on this board anymore ?. This is my first visit for months! I can’t cope with the early 90s-style board format. It’s really needs an update.
“speak to your dealer”
Also, who has a ‘dealer’ anymore? Again, very 90s thinking Sandyb. Not only do I not buy enough B&O kit these days to have ‘a dealer’ but there’s no B&O store within 100 miles of me now!
If I replaced my BS2’s, for example, I’d only be gaining very marginal updates. I don’t need to stereo pair and it’s a lot of replacement cash for items which were under £1500 only 3 years ago!
“I wonder whats going on with the BS1 I thought think it its the update at the same time as the BS2.”
I thought the same this morning. Seems very strange to update the BS2 and leave the BS1.
“The BS2 Mozart can be seen on the website – like the A9 (5), there is no GVA option anymore…”
Oh, not good for me. I control my Balance, Level and two BS2s (the third is non-GVA and, if I’m honest, rarely use it for that reason…) solely using my voice!
I might sell the Infantry Green non-GVA BS2…
“BS2 Mozart coming too.”
I always thought the BS2 was on the Mozart platform! That’s slightly shocked me as I assumed it was, along with the Balance, Level etc.
Does anyone know if there’s anything new in the BS2 edition 3 versus the current edition?
Sandyb: I have 3 BS2s (really, 3!) in different rooms. I bought these in 2020 when there were tonnes of deals on the market in the first lockdown – paid no more than £1400. I think one was only £1250 back then. Incredible.
The last update (barring the new 2.5.3 which few have received) was November 22nd 2022. An update every month would be a good compromise?
We need to also remember, this is Denmark. I work for a Swedish company, went for a meeting 23 November about launching a new website, thought we’d get the website launched before Christmas, but they didn’t want to even start until last week of January! ie. not a great deal of development work gets done between December and mid-January in Scandinavian countries in my experience.
Everyone happy now? Expensive, but its fully specc’ed as anyone could possibly hope for. They look to have ticked the important boxes – design (I like) and spec’s (I like).
Oh wow, expensive is an understatement. It’s 5x the price I paid for my Stage (£1100)!
I guess it’s the product we were waiting for, but at £5K, sadly I’ll be skipping it and will keep the Stage. I’d want the oak version which is over £6K ?
SportPursuit was offering 50% off a range of B&O products recently – I bought a pair of HX for £244.
Q: Does this A9 have Google Assistant?
Answer: No.You’re right, it’s so hard to find if these Amazon-sold B&O products have GVA, luckily some of the answers and reviews say it does not.
Personally, I wouldn’t buy a non-GVA version myself. I’m so used to shouting to the BS2 to tell it to change volume, switch radio stations and so much more. No clue why anyone would want to reach to a device to have to do that manually.
Looking at the B&O “Theatre” thread, looks like this long-awaited Stage NG/2.0 is finally coming this year.
Interesting thing is, what would be the speakers we’d choose to flank the Theatre as the smallest/cheapest are now the BL18’s!
You may be able to use cheaper things, like the Balance etc (Mozart enabled) as home theatre speakers with this new product.
And that’s one thing I’m not short of ??♂️? Mind you, not sure the rev. 1 BS1 or BS2 were Mozart enabled?
I do have a Balance and another rev.2 BS2 though.
Is this a replacement for the eclipse series perhaps?
No, it’s a standalone soundbar which should connect to other B&O speakers.
My vote goes to the BeoSound Edge. I’ve never thought it sounded great, it’s impractical, cumbersome, easily damaged, and extremely expensive for what it is.
Sadly Lee, I’d have to agree with this. Luckily my Edge was good value at £1450 (a few years ago), but I almost never use it. The sound is just, odd. BeoSound 2 runs circles around it, as does my Balance.
In theory, the Edge should be as good as the A9 or close. It’s no comparison.
I’d nudge the Halo towards ‘worst value’ as for me it does almost nothing of any worth. It’s one of those strange objects we think impresses our friends, when really you have to get off your backside, walk over to it, then pick something on it’s fiddly UI, move a manual wheel….only to find the battery has died, again. I now have mine permanently connected to a USB cable.
And all this for £700. Sometimes I think I’m a mug to buy these objects. It would have been awesome in 1992. But I do think some B&O users still live in 1992.
I don’t think there are any ‘bad’ experiences. It’s just a speaker connected to a TV. What could possibly go wrong?
I have that setup, although a 77″ G1. Works fine. Sound is decent. I’m just surprised and a bit disappointed the NG Stage never appeared. My dealer told me about it all the way back in January 2020: that a more expensive Stage was on its way, which was more like an Eclipse sound center and that it would allow the connection of other B&O speakers, which makes so much sense.
Never appeared and that’s over two years ago. I guess someone at B&O thought it might render the Eclipse irrelevant/expensive, so put it on hold.
Interestingly, I find I’m using the Level more than any other device (apart from the Stage connected to the LG G1).
Granted, it’s not got the best sound across the range, nor the best-looking device, but it’s portable, easy to move around, just grab and go.
Only issue I find is the positioning of the controls next to the carry handle. They are sensitive and if your hand gets close it thinks you’re setting a preset or similar, if you move the Level when it’s playing.
