Beoplay A9 with Halo remote in my living TV
Beolab 8002 with Beolab 2 sub and BS Core, Apple TV and 65 Sony OLED in study
Beolab 6002 with Beolab 19 sub with Core and Eclipse Remote and 100 Inch LG Projector in my bedroom. Will be replaced by Beolab 18 and Beolab 19 sub soon…
Beosound 1 with charging dock in the kitchen. Also used as a portable speaker for the patio
Beosound Stage in Dining Room
All are my favorites for the respective rooms. If I had to pick one B&O product it would be my H95 headphones! Next the A9 current gen…
The Wiim Pro is an incredible value. It definitely blows the BS Core out of the water. I have two Cores and checked out the Wiim Pro since it is popular on Amazon and the quality is way above it’s price point!
Reordering works as expected, but it’s not very ergonomic : I thought a long press would allow to reorder station (like on your iPhone home screen), but you have to click to the radio menu, and then modify to access to reordering. Listening to B&O radio on a (B&O) headphone just works, nothing to complain about.
yes works for me. But B&O Radio works for one of my Core, but not other. Says, device is not supported. Both are the same software version. I don’t use TuneIn as my main source so it is OK. I wanted it to work for the Halo remote. I now have 4 out of 5 rooms that work with B&O Radio, and 1 that still uses TuneIn.
I am using 2xCores, A9, Stage and BeoSound 1 with TuneIn, but mostly AirPlay. I did the migration since my TuneIn stations are mainly those that I can’t get easily in the US. So I have around 20 favorites and most of my stations ported over. A few that did not, I got recommendations and that worked fine for me. I use Beoremote Halo and Eclipse Remotes, along with the App for music and it works fine for me.
I suppose it depends on the devices one has. I do wish one could arrange the order of the stations. Looks like it is LIFO – last added get to the top of the list.
TBH, the Halo is a product that has grown on me. The in-store experience does not do it justice. It is great for listening to music.
I love the Halo. I use it with a Stage and other products (A9, 2x Core etc) and I use it all the time…I don’t use it for home automation.
I have Beolab 11 connected to a Beosound Core using the Powerlink Adapter. I also have an Eclipse remote and it works well. The Beolab 600os are connected directly to the beolab 11.
I have Beolab 8002, so probably similar to 8000s. However, I use mine with a Beolab 2 subwoofer connected to a Beosound Core. Without the Beolab 2 subs, I found a pair of Apple HomePods outperformed my Beolab 8002 for music in general – which is kind of surprising. I also use Beolab 600 + Beolab 9 subwoofer (Tulip subs), and even this combination seemed better than just the Beolab 8002 on its own.
However, other than the bass, I don’t have issues with the treble or mid-levels.
My 2 cents worth…
I use two Beosound Core with Eclipse Remotes with both connected to a TV that is also connected with Apple TV. My connections are:
1. Apple TV 4K connected via HDMI to TV,
2. Optical out from TV to Core
3. Apple TV Remote controls TV and Eclipse Remote controls audio.
I also use AirPlay 2 and the B&O App. Including the Cores I have 6 other B&O systems that work with the App or my phone.
My system works well for my needs. You can try an optical in splitter and see if that works for you. You can find them on Amazon.
