The problem seems to be more serious I thought. Since today, the BM5 crashes about every 5 min. Both the motherboard and the hard drive were replaced. I’m a bit clueless now…
I tried the WD SSD drive, but like with the MX500 drive, the BM5 crashes about once a week and I have to do a mains reset to make it work again.
Has anyone experienced this issue when having replaced the original HDD by an SSD? If yes how can it be solved? Thanks
I never experienced this problem with the original HDD. Can’t tell when it happens exactly; seems random, but it’s about once a week or so. Need to check the led on the BM5 when it crashes.
There is a USB hub connected to the BM5. OK I will remove it and see.
I did a clean installation and just copied the music. Will see if the alignment can fix the problem.
The motherboard is not the cause; it was replaced recently for the third time since I have an SSD drive. The crashes occurred with the 3 motherboards.
Thanks!I actually solved the issue by re-entering the password in BS5. Must have gotten lost since I last connected quite some time ago.
Hello Matador, I did use this battery https://www.123accu.nl/Bang-Olufsen-8700091-HHR-120AAB33-F1x2-accu-2-4-V-1200-mAh-123accu-huismerk-i47359.html for some weeks now and it seems to work fine. Regards, Johan
Unfortunately, they don’t do international shipping
The rationale that I’ve seen – this was posted (albeit caveat’ed by his not being involved) was that the vast majority of users nowadays just use internal sources plus perhaps one peripheral (a set top box, or Apple TV).
That makes sense.
Your way out may be (ask your dealer) to get a BeoLiving Intellingece (the Gateway replacement)
I use a BLI and Creston to control my B&O devices. They sure will be able to do the (Atlona) job when properly programmed.
Thanks for confirming.
There are as you have tested work around solutions, but probably all not user friendly.
Not sure I understand the rationale behind B&Os choice to no longer support Atlona… and Atlona for not having developed an App able to control their Matrixes.
Alternatively, the IR codes of this region free command can be incorporated in the Beo5/6 remotes.
Thanks so much, Rendboell. Will get the WD and give it a try.

Hi,
Is there a comprehensive and step by step guide on how to replace the original HDD by A 1TB SSD disk.
I read all the threads about the topic, but I’m missing something here since the only thing I get with the new drive on reboot is « DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER »
I did the following:
1) Removed original HDD and connected a Crucial 1TB MX500 2.5 SSD disk
2) Launched Maintenance Tool on a USB stick and executed the « Clone Entire HDD »
3) Removed the USB stick with Maintenance Tool, but all I got upon reboot is the above insert disk error message
What do I missing? Thanks for your help
Guy
I certainly agree with the discomfort observation. I use the headphone when on long flights. After a few hours, it feels uncomfortable and also experienced the mild headache.

Can anyone recommend an HDMI to DVI-I+audio converter to connect an ATV to a 7-32 which has been upgraded to HD ready? Thanks
I replaced the native HDD by a Crucial SSD 1 To MX-500. Everything works perfectly and needless to say that performance (e.g. reboot speed, access to media files, connection to N.Radio stations) have dramatically improved.
Thank you. I will definitely look at this offer.
The BM5 works fine with a new HDD. It’s the BeoSound5 that has a dark screen. Replaced the DVI cable with a new one; didn’t help.
I once had that problem. I solved it by restarting the modem while BeoLine connected to it.
