And what is the tracking force set to?Martin
Solenoid leads touching the platter underside?

It’s cast metal.
It can come out if you heat it carefully, not melting the plastic, only softening the glue.Martin
Dont’ use readouts of old and bad components for reference!
Set the new trimmer in its center position, fit it and refer to the servicemanual for
the corresponding measuring points and correct settings.Martin
Not sure what you mean?
VTVM usually refers to a Vacuum Tube Volt Meter (F.e. Bang & Olufsen RV9/RV11 etc.,
but today most digital meters have a suitable high impedance so will work fine for most readings of this type.Martin
Did you try what I suggested?

I have seen cases, where too much friction between the metal arm on the microswitch and the actuator arm that rubs against it inside the contact housing kept it from activating.
Clean the parts and add a little teflon oil to lower the friction. And, as mentioned above, the deck will not work correctly upside down, which makes
it a little tricky to diagnose and test.Martin
It may be a little oxidation on the contacts, – it could wear away in daily use.

Does the white bar at the back tumble when lifting/lowering?
Martin
Is it in play state?
If so, it looks right, considering the heavily set tracking force.Martin
Service kit etc. here.
And it looks a very nice project.
They are definitely worth it.Well spotted, that break!

Are you sure it’s actually playing stereo? Could be a tuner/MPX decoder problem.Martin
Beolab 4000 will never be 100% quiet.
It’s more or less in the nature of active speakers. Keep in mind that they
are on max volume constantly and will amplify every bit of noise picked up by the
signal cable (read: “antenna”).
Even with a shorted RCA plug inserted, they will almost always produce a very slight hum when out of standby.
As mentioned by Ravsted above, if you cannot hear it unless very close to the speaker, it can be considered normal.Martin
The band lamps intensity depends on the signal strength.
You could have a bad antenna signal.Martin
It could be a matter of using a properly screened signal cable.

Should the Beomaster 8000 automaticly switch off after playing a record and the Beogram is shut of?
Yes. Apprx 30 minutes after the Beogram stopped playing.
Same goes for Beocord, apprx. 30 minutes after the tape stopped running.
– But only if the Beomaster is still on the same source.Martin
On the grey capacitor it says “Plain negative”.
In other words, the tag with no mark on its rivet is the negative.Martin
Can you try the CD player with a different amp?
