Sadly it is the case that “they lost their way” some time back re the app. As I don’t use any of the music streaming services, any functionalities as updated and possibly worsened in their constant attempts to update their app pass me by…but the loss of use of sound from app does affect me and for that I’m very unhappy indeed. Surely they could hire some more proficient engineers given the price they charge for products and where they position themselves? As I’ve said before I can’t see me replacing my much loved and trusty BV 11 with anything from their portfolio, as the problems raised here and on other forums would suggest that I’m entering a minefield of problems which I simply can’t be doing with. Technology done less than superlatively negates the supposed advances that it should provide.
Well as predicted zilch response,a new app update that does things, but does not restore my sound options on a BV11 presumably because its too old and isn’t on the Mozart platform. Really they do themselves no favours and given its pretty difficult to guess whether the latest update will remove functions you have taken for granted, it’s a pretty rubbish state of affairs! And of course no way to revert to the version that actually did work….I will ask them that option but can’t say I hold any real hope that they will reach out and help….

Hi,
As far as I’m aware the BV 40 Mk 6 is the only version to have the 3D capability.I believe the panel in that version is shared with the BV11-40 that I have. If the entries are shaded out, then that usually means that they anren’t available to you to make use of.
Hi,the cynic in me [and many others judging by responses over the last few years] is already tending to that view. Given B&O positioning themselves as Hi End Products now [and priced accordingly!], they do themselves no favours with their constant mishandling of updates etc on the technical side. I don’t look forward to the day when my TV goes to heaven- I can’t see myself investing in very expensive and unreliable technology. I’m very happy with everything wired together and mostly unreliant on the wonders of wifi in light of their serious underperforming in this area.
Thank you for your valuable time and patience.
We have received information from our internal technical support department, and we would like to share these details with you.
Kindly please note that the issue has been reported to our development team, and they are working to provide a solution in this matter.
As soon as we get any update, we will inform you accordingly.
latest response from Denmark.
An update to my initial post-I have had responses from Uk care and also someone in Denmark..it is said to be being forwarded to technical…Whether that prompts any action only time will tell, unfortunately.
Thank you for your reply..i’m not a beta tester and so, as I feared,I’m lumbered with another of B&O’s less than exemplary app updates that loses good features from the past in the pursuit of newer features they deem desirable. I’ve written to Customer Care but I don’t know how much success that will elicit given their past history in such matters, as frequently commented upon here and elsewhere. Fingers crossed!
Sadly I have to agree with the majority of people’s gripes with B&O and their mismanagement of their app.I went to use it on my phone to change the speaker group on my Beovision 11, only to find that there is no facility to do so anymore -if there is it’s too well hidden, which means resorting to my trusty Beo4 and going through the menu, which is a somewhat longwinded route. Why do they continue to supposedly improve things and not check that all the previous options are still working? It really does seem that B&O can’t effectively deal with the wireless and software/app side of things. A great pity.If anyone could tell me how to roll back my app version to an earlier one that does work I would most grateful!
BV10-32 never had provision for a PIN code as far as im aware..in that respect it differed from the rest of the BV10 series.
Might I suggest trying Quality Dream Audio for starters..they are based near Lewes. Ray has a lot of experience repairing B&O items of all eras, and can advise what is possible.
Well folks,I had the pleasure of attending the launch of the Theatre at my local dealer in Glasgow on Thursday evening and I must say it’s extraordinarily capable. On the showroom floor itself it was used in movie mode with rear BL28s and then purely as a sound speaker for music minus the 28s.Both made a very positive impression. However when I went into the specially created listening room, the film sound in Dolby Atmos took the effect to another level-it was pretty shattering and all encompassing! You wouldn’t believe the immersive multidirectional sound was only coming from the Theatre itself…amazing in every way.I asked to play pure music from my phone and the chap demonstrating then found the tracks as lossless versions. My scepticism,as a professional musician, regarding a sound bar treating music as if from normal speakers was well and truly squashed. If you factor in the retro sound capabilities for connecting speakers back to 1986 and the modular update possibilities of the Theatre itself, I would happily say B&O have aced it this time-after some less successful products of recent times. Do go and hear it as no video can reproduce the capabilities of this new sound bar.

A few things come to mind…I’m not very technical myself but the following come to mind.
1] If the TV doesn’t have the optional digital Freeview unit -DVT- in it you are trying to tune to the old analogue signal which was turned off many years ago in the UK.
2]If it does have the DVT module fitted the aerial may not be drawing in a strong enough signal to make tuning possible.
3] A Freeview box would give you the digital signal tho subject to the signal strength being picked up by your aerial.
4] I have an amazon for stick lite connected to my BV 11 and that works fine from the internet so possibly thats the easiest solution on Iplayer app.
I hope that these thoughts may prove useful.
