—SOLVED—
got some advice from B&O customer support: clear the databases from the maintenance menu, if no cd ripper is installed. Which I did, as I do not have any ripper attached. Rebooted and it took a some 15 minutes and the new n.radio database was downloaded, shows as such in the Product Info and all works fine.
(If there is a cd ripper installed, you need to manually delete the n.radio database out from the service menu ( E:\cache\data\nradio.db) and that triggers a download of the latest database.)
Of course, this only works if you have connection to the internet and you need to make sure that the connectivity is established.
I did change the router, but only in 2021. The n.radio list is stale from 2020, so there must be something else (but I think my new router needed to allow the exception for the BS5/BM5 anyhow. That is done now, with independent port sharing enabled for the BS5/BM5.) I still have no connection in the service menu (except for listening to the radio with the existing radio stations) but I see that the BS5 receives and transmits data. I tried with no firewall on the BS5 and rebooted. but still no connection. So firewall is back on again.
Could anyone with a BS5/BM5 let me know, which port you attribute in your router and whether it is http or https? I don’t recall what I had on the old router but vaguely remember that there was something… (Thanks Stan, you probably have led me onto the right track)
I did indeed get a new router (fritzbox 6660 cable). That could be it. I’ll try to find anything around there.
Does anyone have the URL where the radio stations get downloaded from? (The connectivity is there, as I can listen to some stations and I access the BM5 through the LAN without a problem). (Not sure I need this)
Does anyone know the port that the BM5 needs and whether it is http or https?
Hi Tignum,
I have the same BS5/BM5 7.04.01.1945 and I can access the hdd from my pc, so there is connectivity for the BM5. But I keep the old n.radio from 2020. I have rebooted too, to no avail. When I try to manually update the software, the system tells me that the latest software is installed.
Mr10%,
would you have any ideas as to what the network settings within windows are supposed to be? I don’t want to do a factory reset straight away, as most seems to be working, except for the update of the radio stations. Hence I would like to try any other options first.
Thanks to both of you already now
