Hi,
Ok understood, I will try this.
Thank you very much for your advices!
Thanks a lot for your answer!
Do you know the “easiest” way to unmount the floor stand? I saw there are 4 screws behind the tv, I guess we just have to unscrew them.
But how do you hold the tv while you unscrew the stand?
Thanks again
Hi,
Thank you so much for your advices.
Regarding BS5 encore, I actually really like this device because you can stream music from netradio, aux inputs, usb, cd (with an addition cd player), and the BS5 encore is a standalone device (No need for additional beomaster 5 as BS5 requires, or a socket with BC2).
On the other hand, I agree with you @Stan, it seems like B&O has never promoted BS5 encore, and it is a shame (maybe they wanted to promote BS5 and BM5 instead?).
Do you know what you can do with BS5 + BM5 that you cannot do with BS5 encore only?
@Madskp, what is the IPA you mention to remove the sticky coating? I was not aware of the issues you mentioned (except the sticky coating), so thanks a lot for reporting them, I will keep them in mind when buying my used stereo system.Do you know if Bang Olufsen can still repair these devices ? (BC2, BS5, BL3?) or are they deprecated?
Again, thank you very much!
Hi,
Just for information, the latest BV11 software version is 1.0.11.37484
I have this version on my BV11, and it works with netradio
Hi,
I have a BV 11, that shares the same OS that the beoplay v1.
From my experience, it works perfectly, you can download the latest PUC directly from WIFI so that you can control the box with your beo remote.
About the size of the Apple TV, here is the differences between the 3rd and 4rd (4k 2022, the latest from apple store) generations:
Apple tv 3:
Height: 0.9 inch (23 mm)
Width: 3.9 inches (98 mm)
Depth: 3.9 inches (98 mm)Apple tv 4:
Height: 1.2 inches (31 mm)
Width: 3.66 inches (93 mm)
Depth: 3.66 inches (93 mm)In my BV 11, the new one fits (although it is slightly bigger)
oh thanks a lot for the sharing this video.
So the startup is really fast, and it seems that you even don t have the Bang & Olufsen logo when you start your BV11.
For me, no matter the source, it takes more than 20 seconds to startup the BV 11 and it shows the Bang & Olufsen logo during this period.
Did you set any other sources with the BV11? or only ATV?
Thanks again for sharing all this info
Ok I tried the following:
- quick start with “always on ATV”: it works, I can see the curtains and it starts up very fast
- quick start without “always on ATV”: it also works, I can see the curtains
- no quick start: it does not work, I can’t see the curtains even if the ATV is always on
Actually, I think that when the ATV does not have an active HDMI receiver (BV11), ATV just stops sendings signals (even if ATV is on). So, when we set the quick start in BV11 (or even the picture mute), ATV keeps up on detecting an active receiver, and that’s why the picture happens really fast when we turn on the tv (and then we see the curtains)
In any case, thank you very much for your help, it was a really interesting to deep dive in the BV11 settings 🙂
yes indeed, that might the reason why.
Ok I will have a look at the manual, thanks a lot for your help!
I found this thread on Apple community: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/255310556?sortBy=best
The startup delay seems to be the expected behaviors of the Apple TV 4th
Does anyone have a BV11 with Apple TV 4th (ideally 4k) with TV OS 17 and see the opening curtains when starting the TV and Apple TV with the beoremote?
ok and do you use the HDMI socket 1? or another one?
Thanks,
hi all,
Anybody also seeing this issue?
Thanks
From the Apple TV settings, do you set 50 hz or 60 hz?
And from the BV11 picture settings, do you set the “judder cancellation” to Full, Adaptive or Off? (I don’t know if this setting makes any sense with the Apple TV°
Thanks
I also disabled this setting.
Here are my Apple TV Video settings:
- Format: 1080p SDR
- HDMI: YCbCr
- Match content: No (both HDR and FPS)
With these settings, I still have the delay. really strange…
I also disabled network in the BV11, but did not change anything.
Thanks for your answers
ok thanks, I ll give a try this evening.
I actually found out that when I switch from apple tv source to another source (radio) it is instant, but when I switch from another source to Apple tv, I observe the same delay (like 6-7 seconds) before seeing the picture.
Do you see the same delay when switching between sources?
Ok, even if the apple tv is set « always on », I don’t see the curtains.
It seems that something adds a delay before showing up the picture. Do you enable Wifi?
thanks
Ok, and do you keep the apple tv always on? Do you turn if off when the tv is off?
On my side, I turn it off when the tv is off.
thanks
Thanks for your answer!
By “opening scene”, I mean the curtains: when I press the shortcut button from my remote that I mapped to the AppleTV source; it does not opens up with the curtains, it directly shows the appleTv screen.
I also don’t set powersaving on picture.
Did you set any blank delay?
Thanks
