Interesting, and thanks for that update.
My ASE products – A9 and BS2 (mk 1) have not updated yet.
But I agree with you last point – I also prefer the prior functionality. Now if you remove the “originating” product from playing, and all stop, you then have to go and restart the music in the app for whichever of the additional joined products you want to continue playing.
That’s a worse user experience from what I can see, I agree.
4 August 2022 at 09:32 #36624Long-press for hands-on joining
If I start playing e.g my M5 in the bedroom and want to join that session from any other product (without using the app) I now have to do a “long press” on e.g my Beosound 1 GVA to join. The BS1 confirm with a signal.
That is the same if I want to join from e.g my M3. I have to do a long press. On M3 that previously generated a shutdown of all devices.
If I only do a “short press” I start that devices source and do not join what is played on other devices.
I guess this is to make it consistent across the “ASE products” and “Mozart products”. Joining from e.g Emerge has always been a “long press”.
My firmware (updated Aug 2):
M3: 2.1.50404
M5: 2.1.50400
BS1 GVA: 2.1.50406
Change in multiroom behavior
Usecase: Starting a play from e.g my M5 in my bedrooom. Later adding my M3 and BS1 to that multiroom session, then obviously playing from the M5 source.
If I then turn off my M5 (in my case using the Essence remote) the play stops on all devices. That was not the case before. I think that is a downgrade of functionality and I have complained at B&O.
What do you think?

6 August 2022 at 02:58 #36630Did you scroll down all the way? (Sarcasm)
My software version is 4.1.0.45586 on Android.
I have not had time to play with it.
6 August 2022 at 10:26 #36627Thanks Stan! Did not notice that.
Will play around with the setting and see if the stupid thing with the original source in a multiroom play remain. Im afraid that “feature” is non configurable.

Hmm…. cannot find that page in the app. Could you guide me to it?
6 August 2022 at 10:30 #36629I found the page but only the first two toggle switches appear.
7 August 2022 at 01:35 #36631I looked at my wife’s iPhone, and it did not have this option. However, I upgraded the software to a version released in mid-July, and it appeared. Therefore, I’d recommend upgrading the app (if you haven’t already).

I was on the Beta app that strangely enough is behind the public app sometimes. Now all is good.
7 August 2022 at 05:30 #36633Noticed that when I switch to “classic interface”, the issue when shutting of the original source in a multiroom disappear.
7 August 2022 at 06:42 #36634I noticed a new behaviour for the BLC (at least I didn’t experienced this before) :
BLC is set as ASlave.
Start a BLC source (so also the ML sources) with the app.
One can now JOIN other NL sources to the BLC directly with the app.
22 August 2022 at 03:28 #36635My firmware (updated Aug 2): M3: 2.1.50404 M5: 2.1.50400 BS1 GVA: 2.1.50406
Sorry, can you please confirm the firmware version of your Beoplay M5?
Mine is v1.27.47107 and the app tells me it’s the latest.
Do you actually have 2.1.xxxxx ?
Thank you!
22 August 2022 at 06:58 #36636Mine (my A9 MK2) updated itself on August 18th – to 2.1.50399
Havent played with it yet to see differences in integration with it, ut will report back if anything odd.
The beta version of the app is asking me to “update to new interface” and lists my A9, I guess as the eligible product for interacting with in the new way.
My BS2 has gone for repair, but I imagine exactly the same for it, when it comes back from repair.
