I duplicated one of the existing listening positions to see if changes have been made to the use of the Theatre’s internal speakers. Oddly, we can assign roles (including Center Front) to the left and right side firing speakers, but we still cannot use the left and right front firing speakers. If there is a good reason WHY we can’t use the left and right front firing speakers, I wish B&O would just tell us.
16 December 2022 at 06:10 #37806I was able to add a speaker connected to a Receiver 1. Initially it would find the Receiver 1, but not play a test tone or add it. I then rebooted the Theatre and tried again. After the reboot the Theatre found the Receiver 1, played the tone during room sense, and added it. The speaker position still must be selected manually and the bass management adjusted manually but the added speaker worked great through the Receiver 1 after doing so.

That sounds promising! I just got down from climbing ladders to rewire my Beolab 4000s to connect to Receiver 1 boxes. I’ll have to give it a try.
16 December 2022 at 06:53 #37808I tried and could still not get my Receiver 1 speakers included in a listening position.
16 December 2022 at 08:05 #37800My Theatre is on 2.3.4.15129 also. Bugfixes and stability Improvements.
I cannot ascertain what has been improved from the app or the device. I have made a number of requests to fix bugs etc…and these are under “consideration” by the development team for future improvement.
- There are some BL90 interactions which need to be joined-up with Theatre.
- Listening positions does not compress as you add more buttons/listening positions
- There is a issue with editing “TV” and “Music” lists repetitively
- Cannot move some LG apps (Music Apps) to the Music List button
- Source Levelling control (was in Eclipse/Harmony)
- A device-specific PUC add-on
16 December 2022 at 10:13 #37809Did room sense play a sound through them? Did you go into the advanced settings and select position of the R1 connected speaker?

Room sense played a sound, but after the room sense was finished, the Receiver 1 speakers weren’t added and were greyed out.
I’m not sure what you mean by selecting the position in advanced settings.
16 December 2022 at 12:30 #37801I’m still on 2.3.4.15123. Did those of you with later versions opt in for betas?
16 December 2022 at 12:56 #37802I am on beta but I’ve not seen anything worthy of being a Beta-tester other than there is a feedback section to pass comments to the developers rather than Beocare.
Another thing worth considering – on point 3 above in my last post, the only way I could edit the TV list on the BR1 was a factory reset of the Theatre. Ive done this 2 or 3 times now and it does not take too long to tune everything to how I want it (or the best I can get it). Nothing wrong with the theatre other than naming and cable changing/allocation etc on my part.
However, a factory reset and unplugging now and again with all these small updates may not be a bad thing until the whole unit is properly shaken down software-wise.
17 December 2022 at 01:03 #37811After you run Room Sense, open the speaker group, should take you to a view in the app of the speakers that are included. Touch the three dots top right. New menu will open that will include advanced as an option. Select that.

When you get to the screen in the last screen shot you have to select one of the positions by tapping on it. Only did a quick test with one speaker placed nowhere close to where I would ultimately want it. Hope this helps.
17 December 2022 at 02:22 #37825I can edit speaker roles on included speakers, but the Receiver 1 speakers get greyed out after room sense and I cannot select them to do anything with them. Also, when editing roles, I only get one role for a subwoofer: rear(or possibly back) center. I see that you get THREE possible roles for subwoofers in the back of the room. This is odd.
What version of the app are you using? I have 4.5.0.22121373323.
17 December 2022 at 02:35 #37826I just ran room sense again and here are the steps. Run room sense. Click next and give the group a name. Click done. And done again after the experience Theatre option. Back on Home Screen select the group you just created. Click three dots top right corner and go in to advanced settings. That should bring up a menu that says the Receiver 1 is not included but it will not be greyed out. Click on Receiver 1 and then select Role and then select position. Touch outside the position selection mini screen to close it and then touch the back arrow top left corner. Then scroll to the bottom of the page and touch continue which should take you back to the Home Screen. The Receiver 1 should be saved now in that group and active.
17 December 2022 at 02:49 #37827Deleted…misread post I was replying to.
17 December 2022 at 04:34 #37828Razlaw,
When I click on the 3 dots, I only get two options: Duplicate or Delete. I don’t get an option to choose Advanced.
My B&O app is version 4.4.2.22112852170. Is your B&O app a beta version?
17 December 2022 at 05:01 #37829Yes, it is beta.
17 December 2022 at 05:20 #37830Yes, it is beta.
Ah. That must be where the difference is. I guess I’ll just need to stay patient.
