What are the Theatre placement options on a shelf in a (large) TV cabinet? Is there some kind of small base included or can you put the Theatre itself directly on a shelf ? Without getting too much of sound interference kind of blocking the downward direction of the drivers?
18 October 2022 at 01:54 #37464The Options as I currently understand them:-
- Included with BSTheatre is a custom theatre stand (mount on cabinet, TV on wall etc)
- Motorised TV Floor Stand (must also buy a TV “spine” to connect BST to the Panel)
- Motorised TV Wall mount (also requires the TV “spine” connector)
- Static heavy duty table stand that if connecting a panel must also have this TV “spine”
I have opted for 4 in my purchase. The links to all the assemblies are further up in the thread. (post 9167)

18 October 2022 at 06:33 #37466Great info Steve, thank you very much!
- Does the G1 panel from LG also works with the Theatre?
18 October 2022 at 07:09 #37467Thanks guys, all clear now. The base for most simple configuration is included.
I would be considering the Theatre as a standalone music system , and when my BV11 fails with a different TV it could be my home cinema sound system with (in the future possible?) my two Levels as rears.18 October 2022 at 08:35 #37462Can say if that will be in english….probably not, but in danish as per usual.
Henrik/BOTF has a video coming on thursday:

18 October 2022 at 10:17 #37468Hi
I just ordered a theatre, but I have a Philips oled (854), and would like to use that with the theatre.
Can anyone confirm that you can use the BeoRemote one BT with Puc codes or Cec, to control devices connected to hdmi ports on the theatre? Unfortunately my dealer could not answer the question.
My best
Allan
18 October 2022 at 10:23 #37469That is a good question – especially if you think of a home cinema setup with a projector and e.g. an ATV4 box (and a bluray player) as the source/s.
My guess is that it will work – however I’d like that to be confirmed too.

18 October 2022 at 10:25 #37470Not sure if you’ve looked at the Beosound Theatre – Technical information thread, but Steve has posted a link to the B&O spreadsheet that has been circulating around. It shows some functionality testing that B&O have done with various brand TVs, including a Phillips OLED.
Not sure if the testing scenarios are as comprehensive as you may ideally require, but its worth a look and may give you an idea of what is possible with the BR1 + Theatre + Phillips.
18 October 2022 at 10:29 #37471thats my guess too, as in it should work.
The app seems to do all the settings for the Theatre, and I’ve seen the section within the app for Theatre settings where PUC device control is setup and assigned.
So it should be ok, but until someone does it at home, its going to be hard to say for sure.
19 October 2022 at 09:40 #37472Thanks for answering, I also hope it will work, no sense in replacing a perfectly good TV.
So now we are only waiting for someone to test 🙂

20 October 2022 at 11:05 #37478I guess we got in the habit of seeing John’s video a little earlier. He previously said on the Emerge video:
Normally when a new product releases I like to have my video filmed, edited, done, ready to go on youtube at 8 o’clock on launch day.
I think we just miss him.
20 October 2022 at 11:19 #37473How far back will support be for older speakers (we have some Beovox RL passive speakers sitting doing very little) is there any way to get these connected up as rears for the Theatre?
20 October 2022 at 11:34 #37474Hi,
Yes, you can add ANY speakers, but passive Beovox speakers will require a power amp such as BeoAmp2 in order to connect to the Theatre. I don’t recommend using Passive or MCL2P as there are issues with correctly triggering these amps from newer B&O products with RJ45 outputs. The Theatre will be able to carry out room compensation with any passive speakers connected via any type of power amp, but it won’t have the acoustic profile of the speakers stored for magnitude and phase correction (unless you are using Beovox 1 or 2 speakers).Kind regards, Steve.
20 October 2022 at 11:36 #37475Thanks Steve
20 October 2022 at 12:08 #37476I was wondering when B&O Manchester were going to release a review?
Strangely quiet it seems?
20 October 2022 at 12:12 #37477Hi,
Don’t worry, John has been very busy from what I gather speaking to him recently. I know his Theatres were delayed in transit but they have now arrived, I am sure he won’t mind me sharing this picture that he sent to me recently:-
Producing YouTube videos is very, very time consuming, but I am sure that John will have a superlative Beosound Theatre video coming when he gets the chance!
Kind regards, Steve.
21 October 2022 at 03:43 #37480along with my 3 x sets of BeoLab 17 speakers for surrounds & height on WiSA
Will you mount a pair of 17s on the ceiling?
21 October 2022 at 05:57 #37481Can anyone confirm from looking in the app if there is the option for the Theatre to forward LIGHT/CONTROL commands to the BLI?
I’ve been curious about this for the Stage as well.
21 October 2022 at 06:22 #37482just got back from my dealer, and was playing with a Theatre setup – on the BR1, I could see the Control option under the list option. So I think you’re all good.
