When stereo pairing for Mozart became available I purchased a pair of Level’s for a friend. There were times where one of the channels would experience a drop out. That was about a year ago. It seemed that it would work fine for an extended period and then it seems like the issue would come back. One of the reasons I recently purchased a pair of Emerge’s was to see if it would experience the same issues or if it had something to do with the Levels.
One of the first things I noticed when I paired my Emerges was a channel dropping out. That was on software 2.3.4. I noticed the same on the Levels with the same version. At least I know it’s not a problem with the Levels. So far on 2.5.3 I haven’t noticed this issue.
We both Airplay our music. What I was wondering if this is an Airplay issue or if other music sources have the same issue?
26 March 2023 at 10:13 #44983I listen mostly to Deezer and B&O Radio, and once in a while one of the channels drop for a second or two. I haven’t identified any rhyme or reason to it happening. This with Balances that are hardwired to the router and each other (daisy chained). It happens infrequently so it’s mostly just a little annoying. Software 2.5.3.

Thank you for the information. It definately doesn’t sound like a wi-fi connectivity issue since you have your Balances hardwired. It sounds like it could be a LC3plus codec issue, so that may be a 3rd-party software update that would need to happen. I shouldn’t count on 2.5.3 to resolve this issue for me, but I haven’t experienced it yet.

I can’t see the version beyond 2.5.3… so I assume it is 2.5.3.131. I do run LC3+. I see it was upgraded fairly recently so maybe the dropouts I recall are from before the upgrade. I’ll keep this in mind. Thanks for the information.

27 March 2023 at 07:25 #44988This is pretty new to me. I see under Product settings -> Audio Quality you can choose between Uncompressed and High quality compression which utilized LC3plus. Currently I have Uncompressed selected because my music library is uncompressed lossless. If I experience dropouts I can try the other option.
Where do you see where LC3plus was recently updated? I don’t see it listed under About.
27 March 2023 at 07:52 #44985Hi Mark,
My stereo paired Emerges are cabled to my router and locked to software version 1.8 in the B&O app. They haven’t had any issues with dropping out and I use Airplay and Spotify Connect on a daily basis.
Kind regards, Steve.
27 March 2023 at 12:15 #44986Mozart release 2.5.3.131 solves many of the issues regarding stereo pairing and dropouts on the secondary speaker. I would recommend to update to this version. Also enable the LC3+ codec.
best regards,

Yes, we will change this in the app going forward so we show the revision number as well. You are on the right version.
LC3plus codec is a high-quality lossy codec that includes package loss concealment. This means it can recreate lost audio frames on the receiving side and avoid dropouts and still maintain low latency.
LC3plus is default enabled.
Please let us know if you encounter any issues.

Thank you for the information on LC3plus. It definately sounds like I want that option enabled.
28 March 2023 at 08:43 #44991Hi Morten,
Welcome to Beoworld!
Many thanks for the updates, it is always good to hear from the team at B&O with your advice on the best options for using your speakers. Thank you for your team’s work on the recent software updates, these do seem to be greatly improving the reliability of the speakers.
Kind regards, Steve.
29 March 2023 at 05:54 #44992Hi Morten,
I would like to echo Steve’s comments above. It’s great to get information directly from the source.
About the reliability, on the forum, we have long complained about the little (and sometimes no so little) issues we’ve had with the NL speakers and the app. However, in researching wireless speakers from other brands, this is a very common complaint (app hangs, speakers drop out, resets, reconnects, etc.), and, I’d say in the last 2 years, my NL speakers have been quite excellent. Keep up the good work. You definitely seem to be on the right track.

to see the builds goto the “men” icon in the right above corner, goto chose Support, then Setup overview. Select f.e. the Balance: the sw version complete with build is shown.
29 March 2023 at 08:29 #44994Thanks Carolpa! That works so I was able to verify that I have 2.5.3.131.
