Hi,
I have a MCP 5000 that has developed a problem. The unit will only work once the batteries have been removed and has reset the processor; but it will only work once and then once the timer shut down occurs it will not work again until the processor has been reset.
the 4.75v remains across R149 which shouldn’t be there when the unit isn’t in use. The keypad shows no voltage and I cleaned the contacts anyway so I have eliminated that as the cause; has anybody else had a similar issue that could give me some advice on what next to check?
thanks
Martyn

No solution but same problem here…

I don’t have this issue with my MCP5500, but I’ve starred at its schematic for some times for another project.
4.75V accross R149 seems quite high, as that would imply about 8V of battery voltage.
Can you check that resistance of R149 is indeed 100k ? ( that might require desoldering one of its legs ).
