      Hi everyone!,

Desperately in need of help. Was gifted a 10-40 beovision that was bought from a big hotel with no remote.

Tried all universal remotes nothing works to turn it on?

Someone from work mentioned it may have a ‘btl’ module that hotel tvs have and no remote would work?

Can anyone help please!! Anyone recommend a universal remote or code, ive tried one for all remotes with no luck, or is there any way to turn the tv on without a remote?

Or lastltly can anyone explain what a btl module is and how I can turn it off or remove if thats even possible or am I stuck with a beautiful looking dead weight?

Likewise an old Logitech Harmony Home Hub and its iPhone/iPad app. Annoying to configure, and to press on-screen buttons, but it’s cheap (used) and full-function.

            Hi and welcome to Beoworld!

You need to get hold of a Bang and Olufsen remote – preferably a Beo4. B&O use a different (higher) IR transmission frequency which very few universal remotes are able to replicate. When looking for a Beo4, try to find a newer one where the second row of buttons read DTV DVD CD as this will be most useful with that age of TV.

I think the module being referred to is possibly a BtB module, meaning ‘business to business’ – i.e B&O supplying a TV to a Hotel chain. These are usually removable but it is possible (not definite) that new SW will be required for the TV.

Try to get hold of a B&O remote first, and then have a play to investigate whether a BtB module is indeed fitted.

Come back here for more help if required.

Another possibility for testing the TV is if you have an Apple TV with one of the confirmed working remotes mentioned in this thread https://beoworld.dev.idslogic.net/forums/topic/apple-tv-siri-remotes-and-ir-beovision

you could be lucky that would start the TV although limited to turning on and volume control
