if you haven’t yet, try googling Wiim Pro coax 192khz……cant say for sure, but there seem to be other Wiim users who have (had) the same issue.

        I did, but no solution.

Most posts on the subject are optical-related.

        🙁

          Hello,

I have the exact setup: WIIM connected to Beolab 50. Initially, I faced challenges achieving consistent results while checking high sampling rates via Qobuz. Interestingly, using an optical cable allowed me to play 192 kHz files without issues. However, when I switched to a coaxial cable, I couldn’t play the same files and I had to set WIIM to 96 kHz. But later I replaced that cable and it worked at the highest setting since then, although it took several tries initially.

I have to add that I don’t think 192 kHz sampling rates add anything useful to my ears.

How long is your S/PDIF cable? Some streamers will not output at 192/24 over longer cables, though most will.

              It’s 5 meters long.

1st test made a cable supplied with Beolab 5s, connected to the SP/DIF out of a Beocenter 2, as I had no problem with this cable with this configuration.

So I suspected the cable and bought a brand new one, with the same lack of result.

                Hello Beoworlders,

Still testing my 50s, I borrowed a streamer (Wiim Pro) to try the coaxial input, as it goes further than the optical one in terms of resolution (192 kHz vs 96 kHz).

Unfortunately I get no sound when playing a 24 bits/192 kHz file, as well from Qobuz or from NAS.

Checking in the technical sound guide, I noticed:

“Optical connector: Standard sampling rates up to and including 96 kHz,

S/PDIF: Standard sampling rates up to 192 kHz,

USB Audio: Standard sampling rates up to and including 192 kHz.”

Should I understand that S/PDIF input does not support 192 kHz files?

Did anyone made the test with such files and what were the results?

                Kind regards,

                Yann.

                  Yann,

The BL50/Wiim should handshake together in terms of sample rate.

Have you configured the BL50 to accept coax/optical?

BL50 >> Configure >> input >> three Dots >> Powerlink No.1, SP/Dif or Optical to No.2 >> Listening Preset and Time Out adjusted

Also, because this is a digital, you may need to ensure the BL50s are switched on via a remote (as well as powered on). Because I use XLR, I use the Detect Threshold setting to trigger my BL90s. This is not required on digital sources but somethings up not causing a signal on?

                    Thanks Mr 10%

Yes, everything is configured as you stated. Wiim is configured to a maximum rate of 192 kHz on Coaxial out.

I do not use Optical for this test, as this connector is limited to 96 kHz on the speakers.

With 96 kHz file, the coaxial input works normally. With a 192 kHz file, no sound.

The BL50s switch-on on both files.

I checked with a brand new cable, same result.

                    Kind regards,

                    Yann.
