Hello All!
It’s been a while since I’ve posted…I can’t figure out how my tv set turns on and off! I can’t seem to find a manual to help. I know this is quite a vintage tv, but I’m betting someone here on the forums may know.

12 January 2024 at 08:19 #51745From memory back when we had something like that at home you just press one of the number buttons to turn on the channel that number is tuned to.
You turn it off by pressing 0
Hope this helps

17 January 2024 at 02:07 #51749Martin’s words are spot on but be VERY careful which switch cleaner you use!
I have used Servisol (Now Kontakt Chemie) Super 10 for 30 years and my father used it for 30 years before me. In all that time, the only thing it has ever damaged for either of us was….A Beovision 3502 switch unit.
Ours started having intermittent contacts and so my father gave it the treatment and it was fine for a week or so. Then, one day, he clicked out the volume/tone control drawer and it wouldn’t go back in. Long story short, it needed a complete new switch unit and the dealer showed us the old one which looked like it had had acid poured over it – the whole back of it had completely melted.
So, for the first and, I hope, only time in my life I will say to you – for god’s sake don’t use Servisol switch cleaner on it!
17 January 2024 at 03:26 #51750Thank you for the advice! Does anyone know if the service manual is available if I upgrade my membership status? I don’t want to do any damage trying to fix it!
I just love the design and it sure would be nice to get it working!

Sadly it’s not in the library – we don’t appear to have many manuals from that era.
20 January 2024 at 10:09 #51753Hi Guy,
These plugs/cables are used here in Europe (Netherlands), you can plug them in two ways, often on both ends even.
Hope this helps, regards, Johan
20 January 2024 at 12:50 #51752Here’s a simple question…do European tvs (I’m in Canada) have a particular way that their plug (hot vs neutral) is wired? The tv had it’s plug cut off…Will it only work if wired correctly? I may be wrong but I believe vintage North American tvs didn’t care which side of the plug was “hot”
Any thoughts?
Guy
