Hi All,
I’m using a pair of Beolab 6000s for music and they’re connected to an Audiolab 8300CDQ pre-amp (no bass management) and I’m toying with the idea of adding a sub. The obvious one that springs to mind is the Beolab 11.
First up I’ve already tried a Cambridge Audio Minx x201 as this enables me to place the sub directly in the signal path, it has adjustable crossover and volume, but what it also does is pass the full audio bandwidth to the Beolabs which goes against my instinct that it should only pass the freqs above the crossover. Also I didn’t really feel it added that much.
Back to the BL11, my questions are:
(1) does the BL11 filter the audio before passing it to connected speakers? I think it does but would like it confirmed 🙂
(2) if above is true at what frequency does the filtering occur?
(3) because I is anal does anyone know the crossover in the Beolab 6000?
Cheers,
Tony
