When will the 18’s be updated to be 100% wireless (e.g., requiring only a power cord with no wired connections between speakers or a Core)?

What do you mean by 100% wireless? The Beolab 18 already has Wireless Power Link (24 bit / 48 kHz) and WiSA (24 bit / 96 kHz).

But the Core doesn’t have wireless capability yet.

Thank you for taking the time to respond; my understanding is that you still have to connect via wire, the two speakers and connect at least one of the speakers to a Core to be able to play streamed music from my phone or otherwise to the 18’s, is that correct or?

The Beolab 18’s can be connected to a source via wires (a powerlink cable) or wirelessly if the source has a wireless transmitter. Unfortunately the Core only has wired connectivity since it does not include a wireless transmitter. If a new version of the Core comes out with a wireless transmitter you would be able to run the Beolab 18’s wirelessly. Currently only the Beosound Theatre or one of the BeoVisions have built in wireless transmitters. You could use the Beolab 18’s with a 3rd party source that has a WISA transmitter built-in.

B&O used to sell a wireless transmitter that you could attach to the Core that would probably work. You may have to find a used one. I’ve never used one so I don’t know how well they work.

Beosound Moment also supports wireless audio speakers via WISA. Unfortunately B&O is not doing any more firmware upgrades, so it’s no clear how long the Moment will continue to fuction. ๐Ÿ™

Thanks guys. Really appreciate ur assistance. I sure wish B&O would update their line I must be naive thinking that if a $200 or $300 Bose speaker can do it, why canโ€™t a $2,500 or $11k B&O speaker do it!??โ€โ™‚๏ธ

Guys, as someone said above but let me put it more succinctly:

*To make the Core wireless, add a Transmitter 1.*

Then the only cord required by the BeoLab 18s will be mains power. The Core is being updated any day now, probably with Mozart capabilities, but no one knows if it will include its own wireless capabilities or not.

The Transmitter 1 retails for $600 and there are two used examples available on eBay now for very, VERY good prices. For reference, I bought one on eBay within the last three months for about $360, I believe.

                  I hope that helps!
