I have another TT and for aesthetics I recently acquired a 5005 with an MMC3 and was an idiot not knowing that the RIAA was not in it when adding it to my 2500 system (stupidity tax). Is there a better way to connect it rather than the cumbersome PrePreamp route and gender changing din/beolink cables to RCA and back? I already have a PrePreamp for my other TT setup.
Part 2 is what about getting a user manual? Where? how much should I pay?
TIA
Peter
15 April 2022 at 06:03 #34208My recommendation would be to add an RIAA board inside such as https://www.ebay.com/itm/185373986428?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=i_P7_Iv4Tsu&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=WrB3U2kWQBO&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY. This is just an example of one that can run off of the +12v single supply. Iām sure there are higher quality ones if you scout around. You can find the user and service manuals on Beocentral.com.

About the beogram 5500 manual you can download it here : https://www.vinylengine.com/library/bang-and-olufsen/beogram-5500.shtml
Otherwise about your RIAA problem for my part I’m using a Inakustik pre-amp that fit pretty well with my beogram 3000.

Thank you for the links, the site looks great to use however, they ask for a login/new account for the download. Unfortunately, they have turned off the “new” registration capability so I cannot access the files. Great sleuthing and resource! Thanks again!

6 May 2022 at 12:19 #34212Thank you again, I found another that had the DIN style connectors and may acquire it so that I could wire it in between the connections from the back of the receiver. I’ll look at it a little later as sailing season is upon us!
