Thanks for the good advice I’ll try with a broken piece like yours.
3 July 2023 at 08:51 #464663 July 2023 at 09:35 #46468I can’t figure out where lm 701 Led Module is written on the diagram to locate the interruption of the Vu Meter. can anyone help me figure out where it is?
Thank you.3 July 2023 at 10:10 #46467The gears are adjusted exactly like your picture shows.
3 July 2023 at 11:44 #46469My problem with the loading mechanism is definitely the white worm wheel. The mechanism is smooth without it. Once it is inserted (correctly with the timing mark), the mechanism will become unstable and lock up in the right side. I am not sure if the spring part under it is assembled correctly. Any help is appreciated.
Also I noticed that the VX 5000 is getting very hot in the left corner away from the mechanism. Is that normal?
4 July 2023 at 06:47 #46470Maybe you mean on the right side where there is a heat sink, in this case it is normal
4 July 2023 at 07:45 #46471Haha – no, I mean on the left side, seen from the front.
4 July 2023 at 08:55 #46472There is the 12V power regulator. It becomes really hot, even if the VX is ok and in standby. 60 degrees are quite normal, consuming 20W in standby… that’s a lot…
That’s why this VX had only a lifetime of some hundred hours. I had some VX5000 not surviving the first year in 1988…
The VX can be modified to save power. But this is a complete and very radical modification. A modified VX5000 consumes less than 10W, the VX7000 can be less 5W…
But… you can remove the analog tuner as a first step. There is no analog radio station on this planet any more… so, it’s a waste of space and electricity… and inside the tuner are also defect caps … đŸ˜‰
Do you see the missing tuner? It is not necessary at all… just remove it. This works for the VX5000/5500/7000… less is more đŸ™‚
Remove the tuner… or repair it. And when it is repaired, why put it in again? It’s a useless part…
4 July 2023 at 10:03 #46473Here are a couple of videos of my loading mechanism problems – I don’t know how to embed the videos. Sorry that the speak is in Danish. What I basically say is that the mechanism is jammed, preventing the tape from being the item that unlocks the mechanism. However, if I turn the wheel under the machine, it will unlock and work.

5 July 2023 at 01:32 #46475But this is not the vx5000 card, and then what happened to the socket for the flat cable that comes from the head
5 July 2023 at 02:58 #46476I think mine looks identical.
5 July 2023 at 04:45 #46477At this point I am ready to toss the whole thing and not spend more time on it. I think it’s the plastic part that I glued that is not completely accurate.
5 July 2023 at 06:38 #46478Is it possible to get a new one 3D printed?
5 July 2023 at 09:04 #46474A worm drive will always yam the loading mechanism. It is impossible to turn it from outside.
Or it will break by forcing the cassette into the VX. What happened…
This is the trigger to load a cassette… moving the cassette 15mm inside the loading mechanism will trigger the switch on the drive board…
6 July 2023 at 06:27 #46479I still have some of them in stock… new.
6 July 2023 at 07:42 #46480I will PM you.
6 July 2023 at 07:48 #46481Finally got the job done, my beocord vx500 is now working fine.
Many tracks were interrupted and I had to make jumpers, wire more than 200 capacitors, the battery etc…17 July 2023 at 02:09 #46482New cassette loading unit online.

11 August 2023 at 08:17 #46483Thank you, Martin – but I was lucky enough to get a VX7000 for free today, so I have taken the mechanism from that one.
However, I still have one problem:
The reel drive gear is driving me a bit insane. I cannot get it to touch the take up reel. I have looked in the service manual but there is definitely something that I am not seeing. Any tips? Seems like there is a plastic hook underneeth the right wheel that prevents the change. Here is a video of the problem
12 August 2023 at 05:08 #46485When i remember right… it’s a defect gearbox.
If you remover the gearbox from the underside… be very very very carefull… it makes PLING and a small plastic ring part will fly away. On the axle of the clutch is a white plastic ring on the top with a crack and it will learn to fly.
The evolution is a brass instead a plastic ring. You have already removed the gear box… still surviving?
Make photo of the clutch.
