Hi,i have a Beocord 7000, the tape deck hasn’t been used for a long time but i would like to sell my system so i tried a tape in it. The heads engaged but now out does nothing but make whirring sounds so i assume the belts have failed. How do i go about replacing them or getting them replaced. I was told to ask for @dillen as he’s the guy to go to?

You must take out the drive and rotate the flywheels by hand – or using some kind of suitable tool to carefully push them round.Martin

But basically it’s a matter of rotating the flywheels by hand (Beocord unpowered) until
the tapehead bridge disengages.
Note that the two flywheels rotate in opposite directions; Left one clockwise, right one counter clockwise as seen from above.-And replace belts.
Correct belts here.Martin
