Hi all
My beo6 only works my Beosound 5 in Link mode, in Lounge mode it does not work the Beosound 5
Does the Beo6 need to be optioned? If so how the?
The Beosound 5 is in option 2All the Wi-Fi side of things work great it’s just the inferred side of things .
2 January 2024 at 06:24 #51787Has something changed? Or is this the way it has always been?
You cannot option the Beo6 only the audio or video hardware.
Did you buy the setup from a dealer? Did they setup the Beo6 for you?
It is not a good idea to go changing things when using a Beo6 that is partially working because every setup is individually programmed into the remaote but the dealer (or someone experienced) and we can only guess at the setup.
A full description of your setup will help – Main room, what is there and how is it all connected. and same for link rooms etc.

2 January 2024 at 08:26 #51788Hi
My set up as followsLounge Eclipse Mk 2 55 inc with Beolab 9 back and Beolab 20 front and a sub beolab 2 also Beosound 5 connected to ML/NL convertor.
2nd room Beovision 14 with beolab 3
kitchen Beovision 6 2 hdmi version
bedroom Contour 42 .
not sure I get the best out of it all to be honest , Beovision 6 does not show on nl/ml convertor. Can get Beomaster on Beovision 14 and contour with link control on remote
have to use Join on Beoremote 1 BT to get music from Beomaster 5 in lounge .
also the sound experience in the lounge from the eclipse is poor compared to my old Beovision 10 it used to shake the room it was a fully immersive experience
the eclipse is no where near as good
whta are your thoughts?
any help would be appreciated
3 January 2024 at 09:49 #51791Thank you for clarifying.
Looking at your installation, I would guess that the Beo6 was not programmed with all of your items in mind. I would guess items have been added since the Beo6 was new. Did your dealer uodate it when new items were added?
I don’t know enough about newer ML/NL systems to understand what is causing the issue.
When the Beo6 was programmed it would have been told what was in each room, how it was connected and what option each was set at and if you add or swap items it won’t always work as expected.
You could try to update the Beo6 yourself using the configuration tool, but that will wipe what is on it. You cannot download the current configuration and save it unfortunately (programming only goes one way). Also, if it is working the Beosound 5 with WiFi you may struggle to get it working if you re-programme it.
Having said that, you may be able to programme it so that it works exactly as you want. I will take a look in the config tool for you to see if all your hardware is listed. That way you will know if it is possible to try your own setup.

3 January 2024 at 10:50 #51789Hello, I think I might have confused myself.
Was this post about Beo6 (remote control) Or Beovision 6 (BV6 TV)?
Apologies for the mix up.
