I’m now watching the movie “The Lesson” and am bothered by something that probably only stands out to a B&O collector. The movie takes places in a large, lavish country estate manor. In at least 2 rooms I see pairs of Beolab 28s. That’s all fine and well except that I see no OLDER models of beolabs. Someone of a mature age and means would likely have been using B&O for years. Don’t most of us when we buy the latest model of Beolabs move the older beolabs to another room or repurpose them to another role?

In another movie, “The Fault in Our Stars,”we see in the home of the writer in Amsterdam that he has two pairs of Beolab 6000s surrounding his chair. Now THIS seemed realistic to me. This guy probably bought his speakers upon achieving some success as a writer and thought that two pairs would give better sound. Well, the speakers are certainly not the best that B&O has to offer, but he’s likely had them for many years.

I know….set designers don’t take such matters into account — just look at “Modern Family” with the upside down Beolab 3s and BC2. I suppose it’s just something that’s just obvious to a true B&O buyer.

Maybe there are some B&O customers that just trade in their speakers when buying new ones? But then, as you say, it could be more logical to have the best/newest ones in the main room (and the best older ones moved to the second room).

I am also always looking out to spot B&O equipment in movies or real estate interior photographs :-).

          I guess it is just a ‘set-designer-thing’.
Unlikely that he/she should know anything of this.
