p.s. I am interested in the App Feature Request thread in Discord mentioned by MM. How do I access that?
By the way….how do you (re)install the previous app versions on a Mac? I guess some of us might want to learn more about that. MM
Hi MM,
Thanks for letting me know about Sandy. He already sent me an invitation to Discord.
I haven’t installed any version of the app later than v5.3 on my Mac. I have been testing the beta versions on my iPhone and iPad. Given what a disaster these are, I am hesitant to install these on my Mac until there are significant improvements. The version in the App Store is 5.5.2. I might give it a try on the Mac since my biggest complaint was the disappearance of the play queue in 5.4, which is now back.
Incidentally, there is a Test Flight app available for Macs in the App Store but I haven’t downloaded that. I just use my iPhone as the testbed for the B&O app before updating the Mac. Or not!

29 February 2024 at 05:43 #50556When comparing three generations of the B&O app, preference depends on individual needs and features offered. The latest version might have improved functionality and compatibility, while older versions could be more familiar or stable. Ultimately, the choice revolves around which version aligns best with personal preferences and requirements.
Of course you are right, that this is about ‘personal preferences and requirements’.
To me it seems like the makers of the current app have neglected the thought of backwards compatibility (something that otherweise always was important for B&O) with the new app version.
I do not see, where the new app brings ‘improved functionallity and compatibility’.
Actually there are several options/features missing – it seems like an unfinished product even now after quite a while.
Something that those with headphones etc and/or a setup with new (Mozart based) products may not miss or notice – but something that has made the daily use of the setups of many a long time B&O user more complicated. Is there hope for improvements or it it just something that we/some of us have to work around, is the big question here!

1 March 2024 at 01:39 #50557The new “now playing ” screen is objectively worse than in the older app. It’s not a matter of preferences.
Could the older layout be improved? Surely! Plenty of things to improve and make it even better.
Is the new layout an improvement? No, in no way whatsoever.
And the fact that B&O doesn’t see that is really concerning for the future development of the app.
11 March 2024 at 05:55 #50558While each version brought improvements, the latest iteration stands out. Its sleek interface, intuitive navigation, and seamless integration with B&O products make it my top choice. With enhanced functionality and a user-friendly design, it truly enhances my audio experience.

That could be a quote from an official B&O PR announcement!
Can you really ignore the flaws, that a lot of users have described?
However – if it is true in your case – no doubt, you are one of the very few content app users.
